What do you think?

AP)
ESPN broadcaster Bob Griese has been suspended one week for a remark he made about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya. ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz says Griese will not be working a game this week.Krulewitz says ESPN has spoken to Griese and "he understands the comment was inappropriate."

During ESPN's broadcast of the Minnesota-Ohio State game Saturday, a graphic was shown listing the top five drivers in NASCAR's points race. Fellow analyst Chris Spielman asked where was Montoya, who is Colombian. Griese replied he was "out having a taco."

He has twice apologized on air for the remark.

Montoya is declining to comment on Griese's suspension. He brushed off the remark Sunday, and said he'd never heard of Griese.

Was ESPN correct in suspending Mr. Griese or do you think this is political correctness gone too far?

IB History--Weekend Update

I hope your long weekend was both restful and productive. I enjoyed meeting a lot of your parents on Thursday and Friday. Good times.

I will collect your working bibliography at the begining of class tomorrow. Please make sure your central question is at the top of your bibliography along with your name and number. Please tell me if your sources are primary (P) or secondary (S). Remember, you must have at least ONE PRIMARY SOURCE in your final draft in December. Part A, your Plan of Investigation, is due on November 20. That is your final due date for the IA until Friday, December 18. I would urge as many people as possible to turn in their IA early in order to earn either 20 points or 10 points extra credit.

Please use today to get most of the work done for on Federalist #10. You will only have 15-20 minutes of class time to finish it tomorrow. A graded discussion will follow. There will be another graded discussion later this week. I really love the topic for that graded discussion.

FYI, the next exam is still another two weeks away. Start preparing for the IDs now! This is the biggest unit of the class thus far. ID terms on the amendments we discussed in the Bill of Rights are fair game for ID terms.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
